The Works will comprise of Maintenance and Service of Sprinkler Systems on Approximately 117 Properties to comply with legislation.
As part of our strategic development plan, we aim to construct an additional (100 houses including sprinkler systems) annually over the next three years, significantly expanding our real estate portfolio.
This growth underscores the escalating need for reliable sprinkler system servicing and maintenance across our properties. This presents an ideal opportunity for a dynamic small to mid-sized company specializing in sprinkler system maintenance to thrive and expand its operations.
All Suppliers and Approved Sub Contractors must comply with latest British Standards, Approved Documents for the region and all Council and specialist specifications supplied with the tender documents.
The Supplier and any approved Sub Contractor will meet the Council’s service standards. The Supplier will be registered with CHAS or Constructionline and all operatives, whether employed by the Supplier or any approved Sub Contractor, will possess Cat B qualification (Asbestos Awareness). All operatives working on electrical and heating works will be Gas Safe, NICEIC registered respectively, or similar industry approved.
Successful candidates or companies should hold FIRAS Certification, verifying compliance with specific standards for fire protection products, alongside BRE Global Certification from LPCB, ensuring adherence to fire and security standards, as well as BS 9251 Compliance, meeting the design, installation, and maintenance requisites for residential and domestic sprinkler systems outlined in British Standard BS 9251:2021 BS EN: 12845.
To ensure a full understanding of the Council’s environment, bidders are encouraged to review the Vale of Glamorgan Corporate Plan which is available on the Council’s website www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk.
Bidders are also advised that the Council is interested to know what Community Benefits can be realised in association with this agreement. This could be providing assistance with local projects, training or apprenticeship and local labour usage. Suppliers will be required to complete the Community Benefits toolkit form at the end of the contract.
