Arts Council England manages the Accreditation Scheme in partnership with CyMAL: Museums Archives and Libraries Wales (CyMAL), Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) and Northern Ireland Museums Council (NIMC).

Arts Council England is seeking suitably qualified Service Providers, organisations or individuals, to act as ‘Accreditation Advisers' to provide Accreditation technical support and advice across England relating to the Accreditation Scheme for museums and galleries in the UK.

The contract opportunity is being split into five lots. Each lot is for the same scope of Accreditation technical services and differs on the geographical basis. Arts Council England has five operational areas and therefore the services are split into the following lots

Lot one Accreditation technical advice and support for London;

Lot two Accreditation technical advice and support for South East;

Lot three Accreditation technical advice and support for South West;

Lot four Accreditation technical advice and support for Midlands;

Lot five Accreditation technical advice and support for North.

Please note that the ACE requirements to the Services (scope, activities and outcomes/deliverables) for each Lot are identical and the difference is only the volume of technical advice required per operational area. Further details of volume of advice required per area are provided below in the statistical information.

Bidders are welcome to apply for one or several lots. Bidders must indicate the lots they are bidding for their tender response and ensure that they have enough capacity to deliver the services.

This support and advice will be targeted to current participants and potential applicants to the scheme for the period 1.4.2014 to 31.3.2015.

The Accreditation Scheme sets nationally agreed standards for museums in the UK. There are currently 1743 museums participating in the scheme along with 59 museums working towards Accreditation (statistics published 5.12.2013), demonstrating their commitment to managing collections effectively for the enjoyment of all communities.
