Crynodeb

In line with the requirements of the Children & Families (Wales) Measure 2010 Neath Port Talbot Council (“NPTC”), along with all other local authorities in Wales, is required to produce an assessment of the sufficiency of play opportunities in its area every three years. In doing this we must: (1) Assess the sufficiency of Play opportunities for children in accordance with regulations. (2) Secure sufficient play opportunities, so far as reasonably practicable (3) publish a summary of the assessment on the Neath Port Talbot Council website. The next Play Sufficiency Assessment (“PSA”) is due in June 2025. The commissioned service requires the research, consultation, preparation and reporting necessary to ensure that NPTC fully meets its obligations in regards to the above duty. There will be three key elements to the completion of the assessment: (1) Data gathering (quantitative and qualitative); (2) Assessment of data against the guidance and regulations to determine sufficiency; (3) Development of an action plan to address identified insufficiencies. To request further information and documentation contact the Children & Families Team by email at cft@npt.gov.uk Closing date/time for process - Friday 6th September 2024
