Disgrifiad:
- The Healthy Eating in Schools (Nutritional Standards and Requirements) (Wales) Regulations 2013 (‘Regulations’) stipulate nutritional standards for an average school lunch in maintained primary and secondary schools. The WLGA are procuring a nutritional analysis software program on behalf of up to 17 councils and 11 schools (‘users’).
The software program is required from 01 October 2022 to 31 October 2024 (25 months). It is anticipated that the Regulations will be reviewed within this time frame, as per the Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales 2022 to 2024 delivery plan. This review may remove or amend the nutritional standards, as per England (2015) and Scotland (2021), respectively. The WLGA will undertake a further procurement exercise on behalf of users following the review if there is demand.
The software program must be able to fulfil the requirements of a nutritional analysis software program, described on pages 21 to 27 of the WLGA's Nutritional Analysis Guide, and produce reports to demonstrate compliance with the nutritional standards, described on pages 10 to 11 of the WLGA’s Evidence Guide and Toolkit. Additionally, the software programme must be able to report upon:
1. the nutritional contribution of each day within a week (see example 1);
2. the nutritional contribution of each recipe within a day (see example 2); and,
3. the nutritional contribution of each ingredient within a recipe (see example 3).
Desirable, but not essential, additional features of a software program include the ability to:
4. import or link to macronutrient information from suppliers alongside micronutrient information from McCance and Widdowson’s composition of foods integrated dataset; and,
5. manually add, import or link to allergen and ingredient information from suppliers and manage this so that it can be exported, per recipe, to a third-party label provider or printed manually
